  • Assuming responsibility for the day to day operations of the Primary section, ensuring the communication and execution of the Mission and Vision of IAA and adherence to IAA Policies and Procedures.

Professionalism

All staff are expected to demonstrate professionalism by following the guidelines in the IAA Code of Conduct, which is signed annually by each staff member, the Policy manual, and the employment contract.

General responsibilities

● Managing the daily running of the Primary School under the Director’s supervision
● Implementing and promoting efficient and effective administration and management models and practices
● Attending and participating in management and Board meetings and contributing to strategic and operational planning
● Supervising and ensuring the consistent implementation of staff policies, as outlined in the IAA Policy and Procedures Handbook
● Developing and reviewing procedures and regulations specifically for the section in accordance with IAA Policy
● Ensuring that recommendations from accrediting bodies are integrated into action plans that lead to measurable outcomes contributing to whole school improvement
● Liaising and acting where necessary to address health, safety, safeguarding and well-being issues relating to students and staff
● Ensuring a safe, stimulating and attractive learning environment
● Monitoring physical facilities and advising the General Services Manager of current and future improvement needs
● Overseeing maintenance and use of curricular materials, equipment and furnishings
● Preparing and submitting verbal and written reports as requested by the Director
● Maintaining an appropriate schedule of regular staff meetings
● Providing written materials as requested for school publications
● Complying with Jordanian law and showing appropriate understanding of and respect towards local customs
● Undertaking any other tasks that may be reasonably requested by the Director, especially in times of emergency, mindful that unforeseen events occurring in an international setting can generate complex challenges in staffing and resourcing.

Academic

● Developing and enhancing in conjunction with the Deputy Director for Curriculum and Instruction (DDCI) the school’s educational programs, especially with regard to curriculum, pedagogy, resources and assessment
● Supporting the DDCI in implementation of academic initiatives, including curriculum development, implementation and evaluation.
● Supporting the DDCI in ensuring that program coordinators, HODs and GLs maintain appropriate documentation of course plans, unit plans and weekly lesson plans.
● Seeking out and developing opportunities to extend learning beyond the confines of the classroom; coordinating and overseeing all co-curricular programs, student activities and events
● Developing strong vertical curriculum and social articulation between the Primary and Secondary School.

Staff

● Directing, supervising and evaluating administrative, instructional and non-instructional personnel
● Making recommendations to the Director on the selection, assignment, transfer or termination of employees in the primary school including administrative, instructional and non-instructional personnel
● Monitoring and supporting the welfare, safety and physical and mental well-being of staff
● Undertaking responsibility for all aspects of the school timetable including the planning, the allocation of teacher resources, the communication of teacher requirements to the Director, and teacher cover and substitution
● Overseeing the integration of new teaching staff, their orientation and guidance, their allocation of a staff mentor and their initial induction
● Fostering, organising and evaluating appropriate channels of communication between parents and staff
● Encouraging collaboration between all departments and services to promote systemic approaches to learning and a collaborative culture.

Well-being, safety and conduct

● Implementing a consistent and prioritised approach to the School Guiding Statements on well-being
● Applying school policies and procedures regarding student conduct and discipline at all times, including classes, assigned duties, supervision and any other interactions with IAA students
● Overseeing the implementation of strategies that encourage student self-discipline, reinforce appropriate behaviour and manage disruptive behaviour
● Communicating the paramount importance of student safety
● Ensuring vigilance and the application of best practice in matters relating to student safeguarding and duty of care
● Recognising, valuing and celebrating student achievements both in and out of school
● Managing interactions with children with empathy and sensitivity, ensuring that their concerns are handled professionally, promptly and with appropriate confidentiality.

Professional development

● Shaping and participating in the school’s self-evaluation procedures, leading and providing constructive feedback as required
● Planning the staff development and training program in collaboration with the DDCI
● Participating in and promoting the school’s Staff Development Network by engaging in activities including but not limited to action research, in-service training, lesson observations, professional writing and curriculum development
● Fostering good working relationships with others through active leadership and the sharing of ideas, materials and expertise
● Reflecting on practice and responding constructively to professional feedback from colleagues
● Keeping up-to-date with pedagogical developments globally.

Admissions

● Administering the School’s admissions policy and recommend students’ admissions to the Director and Registrar
● Collaborating with Admissions to plan Parent Information Day.

Finance and resources

● Administering the budget of the section under the supervision of the Director and in conjunction with the Chief of Finance.
● Preparing, coordinating and submitting proposals and budget information for annual orders.

JOB TITLE: Human Resources Assistant

 

About the Role
The International Academy Amman (IAA) is looking to appoint an outstanding HR Assistant to manage all the day-to-day administrative tasks of the Human Resources school department.

Your role is to ensure smooth communication and prompt resolution of all queries. You will also support our daily HR activities and assist in coordinating HR policies, processes and relevant documents.

You will ensure that employees' files are updated in accordance with school policies and procedures, produce HR letters upon request, administer and monitor staff attendance and prepare other necessary documents to support the HR Manager.

An ideal candidate for the human resources assistant position holds an academic HR background. Familiarity in the Education sector is also an advantage. For this role, you should be able to work autonomously and assist in more complex HR duties, like coordinating interviews, contacting candidates, processing and managing insurance claims, monitoring attendance, following up on work permits and residency, and assisting in the life cycle recruitment (e.g. onboarding process for new hires and candidate sourcing.), in addition to tasks and responsibilities beyond those explicitly outlined in the job description.

Ultimately, you should be able to ensure our HR department is organized and operates to attract, hire and maintain our employees.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with day to day operations of the HR functions and duties
  • Compile and update HR records and reports, including employee data, files, documentation, staff attendance, and payroll information.
  • Process documentation and prepare letters and reports relating to personnel activities (staffing, recruitment, training, grievances, performance evaluations etc.)
  • Participate in sourcing, screening and hiring candidates.
  • Implement HR policies and procedures, in alignment with school requirements and best practices to ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations
  • Coordinate HR projects (meetings, training, surveys etc.)
  • Provide guidance and support to staff on HR-related matters, ensuring consistent and fair application of policies and procedures.
  • Support employee relations, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, investigations and grievance procedures.
  • Manage booking flights for new joiners at the start of the new academic year. Handling all queries related to travel. Informing visa guidelines as well over sponsoring their dependents and insurance.
  • Assist in payroll preparation by providing relevant data (absences, leaves, variances, etc.)
  • Coordinate communication with candidates and schedule interviews
  • Conduct initial orientation to newly hired employees
  • Manage all insurance related queries and liaise insurance broker and staff.

 

Requirements

  • A University degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration or related field
  • HR related qualification is desirable (e.g. HRCI or SHRM)
  • A minimum of 2 - 3 years' experience working within Human Resources, preferable in schools
  • Knowledge in general HR office procedures, policies and tools
  • Familiar with the Jordanian Labor, Social Security and Tax Laws
  • Experience working with expatriates
  • Familiar with processing and tracking work permits and residencies
  • Experience in using MS Office and HR Systems (HRIS/HRMS)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Have a creative and dynamic personality
  • Able to multitask and cope with a degree of pressure at peak times.
  • Excellent command of English and Arabic languages (writing, speaking and reading)

JOB TITLE: IT Manager

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum 10-15 years of total experience in the field, of which 5-8 years of experience in a similar managerial position.
  • University degree in IT from a well-recognized university.
  • Well versed in Cisco technologies (Switching, Routing, Security, Wireless, IP Phones).
  • Computer Hardware Troubleshooting and network configuration.
  • LAN, WAN & WLAN, Servers and Firewall Security & back up Standards/Procedures/Implementation.
  • Responsible for annual  budget planning ,  purchasing, installation, and life-cycle maintenance of PCs, servers and LAN network connectivity equipment.
  • Participating in the identification, development and communication of new technology standards and best practices as appropriate.
  • Familiarity with school management systems, learning management systems and ERP
  • Hands on working experience on Microsoft Cloud Azure service, Microsoft VM,  Google and services in Education.   
  • Strong analytical skills and problem solving techniques
  • Designing, developing, implementing and coordinating systems, policies and procedures.
  • Managing Device procurement, inventory accounts and vendors
  • Establishing a continuous improvement mindset for key processes in the school. Initially, focusing on improving the reliability of the school’s IT infrastructure.
  • Strong communication skills in English and Arabic and prompt follow up and ability to meet strict deadlines. 
  • Good interpersonal skills and end user service Focus.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.
