Annual Student Support Conference at IAA

Student Support specialists from schools and centres throughout Amman attended the annual Learning Support Conference at IAA last week. Topics ranging from Executive Function to Fine Motor Skills to Irlen"s Syndrome were all presented by the many guest speakers who shared their expertise in this field. Thank you to all participated in this important event, and a very special thank you to Dr Arwa Al-Amery, our keynote speaker. Through such collaboration, IAA hopes to help develop best practice and to extend more effective support to students across Jordan.

Visiting destinations both within Jordan and across the globe, IAA students experience art, culture, history, diplomacy, adventure, sports, sciences, service and more - all in real-world settings that prepare them for life beyond school. Star Swimmers Deliver Incredible Performance

Congratulations to our swimmers last Friday and Saturday! Lara Aklouk, Farah Rawashdeh, Jafar Jarrar, and Sayf Hatabeh participated at the Open Swimming competition in Jordan and delivered outstanding performances:

Lara Aklouk in Grade 8, won 3 Gold medals and broke a Jordanian record:
o 200M Fly with new Jordanian record
o 100M Fly...
o 50M Fly

Farah Rawashdeh in Grade 5 won 1 Gold, 3 Silver and 1 Bronze:
o 50M Back - Gold
o 100M Breast - Silver
o 100M IM - Silver
o 50M Freestyle - Silver
o 100M freestyle - Bronze

Jafar Jarrar in Grade 5 won 6 Gold medals:
o 100 IM
o 50M Freestyle
o 100M Breaststroke
o 100M Freestyle

Sayf Hatabeh in Grade 7 won 5 Gold medals and broke 2 Jordanian records:
o 100M Breast with new Jordanian record
o 50M Breast with new Jordanian record
o 200M Breast with new Jordanian record
o 50M Freestyle
o 100M Freestyle

Hawks Compete in Dubai

Go Hawks! Our IAA Hawks teams participated in two tournaments during their stay in the UAE. Our U11 and U12 teams played nine games, each team exhibiting their sportsmanship throughout... Showing great determination while playing under hot and unfamiliar conditions, IAA student athletes proved to be tough opposition for the different schools participating. As always, the kids and coaches enjoyed themsleves and are bringing home theadded value prize - Silver Medals for both age groups. Congratulations for another great Hawks achievement!

Anti-Bullying Workshop Empowers Kids

"Kids Empowered" presented an Anti-Bullying Workshop to IAA parents today. Guest speaker, Kimber Bishop-Yanke, educated parents about the issue, providing guidance on supporting children as they navigate through peer relationships in a positive way. Thank you to all those who attended. IAA staff and students will also be attending their own scheduled workshops later this week in order to better cope with bullying as a community.
