The secondary library caters to students in Grades 6-12  and equips students with the skills they need to work confidently in a modern digital learning environment.  Lessons here focus on collaboration, digital citizenship, inquiry, and information evaluation. It boasts a collection of over 30,000 books of which some are in other languages such as Arabic, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Latin, Russian and Chinese. The Secondary Library’s Arabic collection is continuously upgraded and includes nonfiction, fiction, and classics by famous authors of the Arab world. The library resources and collection supports the International Baccalaureate Diploma and the Middle Years Programme and the secondary librarian assists students and staff in research and provides resources to support students’ education. The librarian also supports students in following the highest standards of academic integrity, an important expectation at IAA. Along with Destiny Discover and Britannica, the library also subscribes to Gale Databases that gives students access to many popular magazines and news sources like The New York Times and The Economist, in addition to media sources from all over the world for a better global perspective. JSTOR is a digital library of academic journals, books, and primary sources that the library gives students and teachers access to in order to provide the most current information and library instruction. The large library has 28 computers for public use, a fully equipped tiered classroom (seats 28), a Samsung Smart School Media digital teaching classroom with an interactive whiteboard and 24 integrated tablets, a group study room, a Media Lab with high tech equipment and printers, and areas for quiet reading, social interaction and research.
