"Children are made readers on the laps of their parents” - Emilie Buchwald

 

It is that time of the year when our students can enjoy our annual book week. We will host guest authors who will read in the classrooms, hold book signing opportunities with three authors, offer a wide variety of Arabic and English books and "a buy a book, give a book" initiative that is run by our Primary Student Council to donate to needy schools and orphanages in Jordan. Parents will be allowed on campus at 1:45pm during the book week to browse our book display in the Primary Atrium.

Grade 6 Bake Sale

Congratulations to our Grade 6 students, who worked as a team to raise over JD 800 in their bake sale. Their chosen charity is the Palestine Children"s Relief Fund. This non-profit and non-political organization was established in 1991 and aims to address the medical and humanitarian crisis facing Palestinian youths in the Middle East. Since then, it has expanded to help suffering children from the region.

IAA students training participants from Safoot & Al-Rashid public schools on the art of debating, in preparation for the upcoming Al-Majlis Al-Arabi. The event, which is under the patronage of HRH Prince Hassan Bin Talal, gives our students the opportunity to use the Arabic language to debate and express their views.

IAA"s Grade 9-11 students taking part in the AMMUN last Friday, organised by the Amman Baccalaureate School, where the theme was "We The Peoples”.

Students drafted and debated resolutions on various topics; "Building a framework to further prevent food wastage”; "Integrating the Syrian Refugees into the European workforce with adequate latitude” and "Protecting the right to privacy through the prevention of online hacking, tracking and surveillance.”
