Go Hawks! IAA Breaking Records at the 2017 Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan.

IAA"s Aliya Bushnaq (Track & Field), Lara Aklouk, Sayf Hatabeh, Farah Rawashdeh, Deniz Korsheh, Jafar Jarrar & Lama Zaim (Swimming) represented IAA in the Jordanian national team and their achievements were remarkable with new Jordanian records, breaking own records and many medals.

 

Aliya Bushnaq:

3rd place in 400m, qualified to semi-finals and broke the Jordanian record (previous record 1:03:62 - Aliya's record 59:94) and then broke her own record in the semi-final (new record 58:80).

Sayf Hatabeh:

7th place in 4x50 relay with a new Jordanian record 1:46:91

4th place in 4x100 relay with a new Jordanian record 3:36:73

Lara Aklouk:

Broke her own record in the 100m butterfly 1:07:91 and finished 5th.

Farah Rawashdeh:

400 free 1st place for age group 5:31

200 breaststroke 2nd place for age group 3:14

100 free 2nd place (breaking new record )1:08

400 IM 2nd place for age group 6:28

Deniz Qursha: 

800 free 1st place ; time 10:22 

Breaking new age group record 

400 free 1st place ; time 4:59:34

100 free 1st place ; time: 1:05

400 IM 1st place ; time: 6:03 breaking new record.

Jafar Jarrar:

200 IM 1st place for age group silver medal

50 free 1st place for age group no medal

200 breast 3rd place for age group no medal

50 breast 3rd place for age group no medal

400 IM first place Gold medal

IAA Students Taking Part In The Taekwondo Championship, Scotland IAA students are among 600 athletes taking part in the Taekwondo Scotland Championship this week. Athletes from Denmark, UK, Norway, Sweden, Holland, Germany, Ireland & Jordan are aiming for gold. Good luck Salma Abu Dahab, Salman Abu Dahab, Rashed Abu Dahab, Tawfiq Bisharat, Elena Bisharat and Nadine Baqain!

Congratulations to IAA"s athlete, Aliya Boshnak, the 400m star who broke the Jordanian record at 55.38s in the IAAF World Championships U18 in Kenya , ranking 16th worldwide and 1st among Arab athletes for 2017.
