Ohio’s Oberlin Conservatory of Music

Ohio’s Oberlin Conservatory of Music visited IAA today to perform both classical and jazz music. They gave workshops to the school choir and school band as part of a musical tour across schools. The Oberlin Conservatory of Music was founded in 1865 and is the second oldest conservatory and oldest continually operating conservatory in the U.S. Thank you @Oberlincon for the outstanding performances and for inspiring our students.

Poetry Workshop In Primary School

The Primary Homeroom teachers finished a two-part poetry workshop yesterday with Dr. Lois, Assistant Director for Curriculum. They studied children’s poetry, learned new teaching approaches and worked with their colleagues to plan additions to existing poetry units across grade levels. To support literacy at home, Dr. Lois suggests asking children to share their opinion of the reading and give clear reasons for their thinking.
IAA’s Manaf Hijjawi (’19) Puts Jordan On The Karting Map

History was made when Manaf Hijjawi was the first driver from Jordan to win a race at the karting finals, the “Rotax MAX Challenge Grand Finals”. Manaf came in third in the Rotax World Championship 2018, held in Brasil. This race has become the most prestigious championship in the world of karting that brings together the most talented drivers in the world. Every year competitors from almost 60 countries can qualify for the annual Grand Finals. Well done Manaf!
Prophet's Birthday Observance

As per the Prime Ministry’s announcement, the observance of Prophet Mohammad’s birthday will be on Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2018 instead of Wednesday. Thus, the IAA will be closed Tuesday.
