President's Letter
Esteemed delegates,
Welcome to UNCSTI!
My name is Alisha Zakarneh, a sophomore at the International Academy Amman, and it is both an honor and a privilege to serve as your president for IMUN'25. Alongside my distinguished chairing panel, I am committed to creating an enriching and memorable experience for each and every single one of you. Whether you are a first time delegate or an experienced one, I hope this conference encourages you to think critically, speak confidently, and debate meaningfully. Welcome to IMUN'25, together let's make it truly unforgettable and an experience both you and I will always cherish.
The theme for IMUN'25, Pandora's Box, connects us deeply to the idea that with every innovation comes a risk and an unexpected outcome. But even when things seem uncertain, our ability to think critically, innovate ethically, and act collaboratively is what drives change, and that is what UNCSTI is all about, innovative and impactful change.
The theme also lies at the heart of both our topics, being the role of recent technological advancements in achieving the UNSDGs and Promoting the Development of microchip technologies in developing regions, reminding us that with every step forward, we're faced with new questions.
Walking into my first ever MUN experience, I was no more than an 11 year old seeking means of amplifying my voice, it wasn't until the end of that conference ended did i realize that MUN would soon develop into a long lasting passion that i would carry with me and a space where my voice could be heard. Now as your president, I want to give you all that same experience, one that allowed me to discover my passion for mun, grow my voice, and discover a space where I felt truly inspired and challenged.
So delegates, I urge you all to step up and make the most of it.
I can't wait to see you all on the floor very soon!
Sincerely,
Alisha Zakarneh
President of The United Nations Commission on Scientific and Technological Innovation
