President's Letter
Honorable delegates of the Economic and Social Council,
My name is Lana Sehwail, I'm a senior at the Modern Montessori School and this year's president of ECOSOC. For this year's iMUN, I'm thrilled to lead a council that holds such a special place in my heart for one last time. Through my several experiences in this committee, both as a delegate and chair, I've come to find an intricate balance between mediating economic conflict and promoting human rights.
The Economic and Social Council was established to coordinate ongoing economic, social, and humanitarian issues, building a platform for diplomatic discussion and shaping solutions that will only intensify with time. In this conference, be it your first or your last, keep in mind that with every word you write, every speech you present, every moment you seize, you take one more step towards becoming the best version of yourself.
By voicing your ideas and working collaboratively with other delegates to resolve real-life economic issues, let us all navigate through the complexities of international relations together, step by step. Please don't hesitate to contact me before, during, and after the conference if you have any questions or concerns!
Thank you all, I hope to make this committee as memorable for you as it was for me.
Best wishes,
Lana Sehwail
President of the Economic and Social Council
