President's Letter

Esteemed advocates, Welcome to the International Criminal Court (ICC)! My name is Antone Qasir, and I have the honor of serving as your President for this conference. Alongside my respected deputy and chair, I look forward to leading you through what will be one of the most intense, thought-provoking, and challenging committees you've ever been part of.
The ICC operates under the Rome Statute, holding jurisdiction over the most serious crimes of concern to the international community: genocide, crimes against humanity, war crimes, and the crime of aggression. In this session, we will be prosecuting two defendants whose cases could not be more different, yet both carry massive weight in the pursuit of justice.
Prosecution v. Janis Karpinski takes us deep into the realities of war and the dark question of command responsibility. Can those at the top be held accountable for the actions of those beneath them, and if so, to what extent?
Prosecution v. Lee R. Raymond moves us away from armed conflict into another kind of battlefield, the planet itself. Here, we will examine the link between corporate actions, environmental destruction, and the potential classification of ecological harm as a crime against humanity.
These cases demand more than just debating innocence or guilt. They require strategy, precision, and the ability to control the narrative in the courtroom. Whether you serve as Prosecution, Defense, or Jury, remember you are not here by chance. You were chosen to bring change, to test the limits of the law, and to decide how justice will be written into the record.
In the ICC, every word you speak can shift the balance. Play your moves wisely.
May the truth prevail, and may the verdict be in your favor, advocates.
Sincerely,
Antone Qasir
President of the International Criminal Court
