Welcome

From Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah

Dear Friends,

The New Year always makes me think how quickly time flies – and how we must all make the most of this precious commodity.

As I reflect on the year that has passed, as well as our achievements in the last decade, not only am I proud but I’m convinced that we use our time together productively. 2015 looks set to be just as, and perhaps even more, dynamic.

How?

In how we nurture creativity. We’ve come to expect a thriving arts scene with visual art exhibitions, choral performances, musicals and dramatic art at all levels of learning. The recent performance of Dracula set a new standard at the IAA. This creativity increasingly features in other areas of the curricula where we might not expect it -- like in science competitions -- where IAA students excel not only in the science but in the innovative ways in which they present their projects.

In how we strive to be sustainable. 2015 will see the IAA employ a new ‘photovoltaic’ system. In case you’re wondering, that’s a solar system that allows us to generate 100 per cent of the electricity we need to operate our campus. So, as we do our part to protect Jordan’s precious environment, our youngest citizens are growing up to be more ‘green’.

In how we compete at the highest levels. Our sportsmen and women are putting IAA on the map -- especially the European map. Last year in France, our young athletes did us proud at the European School Sports League (ESSL) as did our Under 18 Girls’ Football Team. In the ESSL tournament, they battled against the best teams to make it to the final. It’s that unwavering spirit of sportsmanship which has so distinguished our Hawks at the international level and drives them to ever greater success.

In how we explore beyond the classroom. The IAA knows that for its students to be true global citizens, they must explore beyond their borders. So, our vibrant Trips Programme enables them to visit countries as close as Palestine and the United Arab Emirates and as further afield as Nepal, France and the United States.

We value strong academic performance. Our International School Assessment (ISA) results are above the global average. But we aren’t complacent. We continually work to enrich the curricula, assess our progress as educators and stay ahead of the curve. As a result, our graduates have enrolled in prestigious universities all over the world – a trajectory which is set to continue in 2015 and beyond.

No one student, no one teacher could achieve any of this on their own. This kind of success takes a community. A strong, vibrant, compassionate community. And that’s what we’re blessed with at the IAA. Students who work hard; parents who support the ethos of the school and volunteer their time; teachers who go the extra mile; administrators who ensure that things run smoothly; and leadership that is visionary. Thank you all.

Warm wishes,

From the Director

Welcome to the online 2016-2017 IAA experience!  My pride in this school just seems to grow every year. It is indeed a touching moment for all of us, as we share the success of the past 12 years at IAA. Schools are the foundations where the moulds are made, transforming a child into a confident, responsible and capable youth of tomorrow. Together, as school, staff and parents, we drive this transformation.

Our unique and beautiful campus is the backdrop for a school determined to have a positive impact on the personal lives of its students, celebrating their individuality. At IAA, we are deeply committed to ensuring that every day, each and every student has the attention and care of our professional staff. The result is not only that of excellent academic progress, but one that is grounded in duty, leadership, acceptance and cultural heritage.

Last year, was once again a year of success and achievements. Our unique and well-rounded Rubicon Atlas curriculum translated into fabulous IB results, top university acceptances, epic musical productions (“Annie” & “It’s A Wonderful World”), charity projects, breaking records at the Open Swimming Competition, 1st place trophies in U16 Girls Volley, U18 Boys & Girls Football and U12 Boys MEUC; Go Hawks!

And our story continues this year…..

I am always inspired by the possibilities that exist for our school this year and in the years to come and I invite you to learn more about IAA and how we help your children reach their greatest potential.  Please feel free to contact me with any questions, concerns or comments. My doors are open to all. Stay connected with us on social media as well as the IAA mobile application.

Finally, I wish you the very best school year and look forward to working with you this year!
