CIS College and University Fair

This afternoon, IAA hosted the Council of International Schools (CIS) - College and University Fair for Grade 11 students.

Universities from the US, Middle East & Europe offered a wide range of programmes including Art and Design, Law, Engineering, Food Science and Aviation.

Students visited different booths, chatted with Admissions Officers and collected material, all in preparation for the next semester when their application cycle begins.

Our Grandparents’ Accomplishments

Grade 9 students showcased their poetry and stories about their grandparents during today’s Arabic assembly,  entitled “عبق الأجداد” translating into “Our Grandparents’ Accomplishments”, inspired by the late King Hussein bin Talal’s biography- My Profession as a King.

IAA grandparent, Prof. Marwan Kamal, inspired the audience with his childhood memories and stories of his own grandfather.

Film Making and Aircraft Building at IAA!

The IAA secondary students were fascinated with airplanes and film-making. Two speakers, Gene de Marco from The Vintage Aviator Ltd. and David Wilks from Weta Workshop took the students on a journey of creativity, drama and determination to succeed. The students were exposed to behind the scenes work of Weta Workshop and their award-winning movies like  Lord of The Rings, Avatar and The Hobbbit. De Marco, on the other hand, talked about his company’s aircraft restoration and the building of WW1 aircrafts, engines and propellers. What a ride!

Public Speaking

Our Grade 9 & 11 students attended their fourth public speaking session on Sunday; a series of classes as part of the Youth Leadership Program that is offered by Toastmasters International. The program comprises of 8 sessions, in which students unlock their speaking potential and become effective communicators and leaders.
